Every night, almost without fail, this little Ulmer family finds ourselves curled up on our extra long couch. Bryce and Beatrix are early to rise, early to bed so I’m the lone night owl watching over them as they fall asleep to sounds of whatever silly show I have playing.
And absolutely without fail, I take a minute to enjoy their peace. I giggle at Bryce’s snores and Beatrix’s tangled, gangly legs. I have a picture of the two of them, asleep on the couch, from almost every day since we brought Bea home. It takes everything in me not to wake them up, but I love that moment. Because everyday I get that time to be still and feel so grateful for what I have.
They are like my thankfulness alarm clock. And I hope you have one too. The world would be a better place if we all remembered to take a moment each day to be grateful for who and what we have in our lives.
I’d love to hear…what are you grateful for? Do you have a life alarm clock, that special moment each day, where you give thanks?
