Sorry for the late Manie! I’ve been so busy I didn’t even have time to blog.

Friday we had southern night and I made corn muffins from scratch so we could finally try the chowchow (a southern relish) Bryce canned a couple of weeks ago. It was delicious!

Saturday we took a nice leisurely walk to Stone Creek with Beatrix and I enjoyed one of the best cappuccinos I’ve ever had and, as always, a pistachio cardamom scone. Stone Creek is just the greatest. Then we spent the afternoon and evening with our friends! We went to MKE Brewing and had dinner at the Milwaukee Ale House. I ate way too much food and had a total of 3.5 beers for the whole evening and I was SO sick when we got home. My heart was racing, I was sweating. It was horrible. I just can’t eat/drink like that. My body rebels. The last time this happened I had just had like a million course meal at The Noble along with one really sweet cocktail. Does anyone else have that problem? I’ve read that it’s not really something to be concerned about. It can just happen when you eat too much and/or drink alcohol. It used to happen more often when I was a sugar monster and ate like crap. Now it’s rare, but really throws me for a loop.

On Sunday I still felt like a crap sandwich until superbowl time. I was cheering on the Seahawks (because they are from one of my favorite cities) even though they knocked our beloved Packers out. Our friend, Joe, braved the weather to watch with us and Bryce made his famous chili. I think the chili was the only thing that made me feel better. Beatrix fell madly in love with Joe and even displayed some behavior ill-befitting a young lady. I was mortified. She’s still cute though.

Whew, and that snowstorm! Not enjoyable. I had to leave late for work and then it took about 1,000 years to get there. Remind me why I haven’t moved to Seattle yet?
