Welcome to Affichomanie’s first brew review. I’m not sure why it took this long for me to start sharing & recommending delicious beers considering the Ulmer household is rarely without new beers we’re trying. But alas, here we are at numero uno.
Maybe it’s because I’m a Brew City lady, but I find it thoroughly irritating when people are surprised I drink/have good taste in beer. Now come on, ladies! I know you drink beer. And I’m assuming you want to drink a beer that doesn’t taste like watered down cat pee just because you don’t know what you’re getting yourself into with those crazy sounding (and sometimes hard to pronounce) beers. Let’s not be those girls ordering Miller Lite, alright? (Unless you legitimately like Miller Lite, in which case, no judgment.)
Now I’m no expert, but I’d like to think I know a good beer when I taste one. I’m going to keep it simple here. Is the beer good? Yes or No. Should I eat it with pie? Yes, always yes. Can you describe the mouthfeel? No, stop being so fancy. (I actually talked to Bryce about what I was going to write and he said I should talk about IBUs so I literally did have to say, “No, stop being so fancy.” Keeping it real, yo.)
With all that being said, let’s get tasting!
I’m starting you off reaaaaallll easy with a light and very drinkable Wheat Ale from Upland Brewing Co.
Beer: Wheat Ale
Brewery: Upland Brewing Co.
ABV (Alcohol by Volume): 4.7%
Price: $8.99 for a 6 pack (On sale from $9.99 at Whole Foods!)
Drinkability: Easy Peasy
Tastiness: I found this beer to be pretty de-lish and was surprised at the very light spice flavor it had.
Serve with: Veggie Burger & Fries
Tips: This beer is unfiltered so it will be a bit cloudy. Poor it into a glass my friend, you don’t want all that goodness just sitting on the bottom of the bottle.
